Warning signs worth taking seriously
Gambling harm rarely arrives all at once. Common early signs: spending longer or more than you intended, trying to win back what you lost, borrowing or dipping into bill money, keeping it quiet from people you live with, and feeling restless or low when you are not playing. One of those is enough reason to ring the helpline. It commits you to nothing.
Blocking every GB-licensed site at once
An exclusion with one operator only covers that operator. GAMSTOP reaches every online gambling company licensed in Great Britain, because they must check its list when you register and when you log in. You choose six months, one year, five years, or five years with auto-renewal, and the block cannot be lifted early. GamCare's guide to self-exclusion and blocking software also covers bank gambling blocks and device blockers, which many people add on top.
Controls inside BetNeptune
BetNeptune is run by ProgressPlay Limited under a Gambling Commission licence. Its Play Responsibly page describes the tools below. You set them yourself from the account's responsible gaming area, or ask support to do it.
- Deposit, wager and loss limits by day, week or month. A cut applies immediately; an increase waits seven days.
- Time-out for a short break from the account.
- Session expiry, which signs you out after a length of time you choose.
- Reality check, a reminder on screen of how long you have been playing.
- Self-exclusion for a fixed or open-ended period, covering the operator's whole network. It cannot be reversed during the period; the account is closed and any balance returned.
- Your gambling history, which you can request in full, including beyond the last 12 months.
The operator's own page is under "Play Responsibly" in the footer of www.betneptune.com. We are summarising it; where the two differ, the operator's page applies.
If you played at Neptune Play
Any limits or exclusion you set there were with AG Communications Limited and do not follow you to another operator. If you stepped away from gambling on purpose, a GAMSTOP registration is the simplest way to keep every GB-licensed site closed to you, and a call to the helpline is a good first step if you are tempted to start again.
Habits that help
- Set your budget before you log in, and make it a deposit limit so the site enforces it.
- Count every stake as money spent. A win is a pleasant surprise, not a plan.
- After a loss, stop rather than stake again to recover it.
- Avoid gambling when you are stressed, low, drinking, or short of money.
- Keep gambling money separate from money for rent and bills.
- Take regular breaks, and talk to someone if you catch yourself playing to change how you feel.
Under-18s
In the UK, nobody under 18 may legally gamble. BetNeptune's terms close accounts found to belong to under-18s and void any winnings and bonuses. This site is for adults. If you are worried about a young person, GamCare and GambleAware both have advice for parents and carers.
Why this page exists
neptuneplay.net earns commission when readers join BetNeptune, which is exactly why help should be impossible to miss here. You will find an 18+ marker and a BeGambleAware.org link on each page, and a link here in each footer.
